DOSSIER #014 // Theaceae
Evidence: StrongMatcha
Camellia sinensis • Ceremonial green tea powder • Uji matcha
COMPOUND PROFILE L-theanine, EGCG, caffeine
THE 30-SECOND VERDICT
Caffeine plus L-theanine has replicated attention data. EGCG is well characterized. Matcha is still a caffeinated tea, not a detox.
Matcha is shaded Camellia sinensis, stone-milled. Grade, origin, and lead testing matter more than “ceremonial” as a marketing word.
WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR
- ✓ Morning alertness with fewer jitters than drip coffee for some people
- ✓ Cooking and lattes
WHAT THE EVIDENCE ACTUALLY PROVES
- ● L-theanine + caffeine combinations show attention effects in controlled studies.
- ● Heavy-metal screening is a quality control issue, not a health claim.
- ✕ Not a cleanse. High-lead lots exist — demand COAs.
