The mushroom coffees we'd actually buy
We tested 11 top functional coffee brands for morning alertness, stomach acidity, fungal extraction ratios, and honest price per serving.
Why this test exists
Mushroom coffee is a marketing category. Some bags are coffee with a real dual extract. Some are mycelium-on-grain with a chai spice cabinet. We bought what people actually search for and kept the tasting notes boring on purpose.
How we scored
Purity (label vs biomass), evidence (does the dose resemble studied extracts), value (price per cup in the active region), usability (drip vs packet vs sludge). Commission was not a column.

Methodology
Same kettle, same mug, five weekday mornings each. We logged extraction labels (fruiting vs mycelium), caffeine claims, and whether a public COA existed. Scores are editorial, not lab certificates of analysis for every bottle in the category.
